ALL DAY  Art Auction! – Cedar Island
All through the weekend there is an art auction on two sims. Come make a bid on some of the amazing art, sculpture and other creative works donated by some of SL’s premier artists. The auction is on a kiosk system and will run through Monday so come browse and bid!

Mariette (Kigali, Rwanda) joins by phone to tell us about Le Sentie de la Paix (the path of peace) and the work that her organization (UMUSEKE) is doing in Rwanda to provide hope for the orphaned youth of the genocide of some years back.  Photos, voice;  come join in.

12:00:00  Melodee McDonnell and CTM Underwood, Four Bridges
Melodee & CTM will be doing a show TOGETHER YAY! Melodee & CTM are gifted SL musicians with an amazing range. Come hear them as they easily move from one genre to the next…a toe tapping country tune  to a  classic rock song and  then seamlessly fall into a slow sultry Jazz ballad.

Connye (NC, USA) and Prinny (CA, USA) join by phone to tell us how descendants of Thomas Jefferson and his slave wife, Sally Heming, have come together over the years to reconcile the racial tensions and history.  Compelling, with beautiful photos to share.

16:00:00  Discussion:  Amnesty International’s work - Four Bridges Coffee Shop
SL’s own millay Freschi will speak about the role of Amnesty International in the world with a specific focus on child soldiering and the story of one mazing girl who survived the ordeal.

17:00:00  Tamra Sands - Four Bridges
A versatile singer, Tamra performs Broadway Pops across the US with orchestras including The Nasheville Symphony, The Palm Beach Pops, and Charlotte Symphony.  She will be gracing the stage at Four Bridges today.

18:00:00   Interview / Discussion: Sammy Abbey, ICCHRA Ghana,  Four Bridges
Sammy Abbey (Accra, Ghana) joins by phone to tell us about the International Centre for Conflict and Human Rights Analysis and the fine work they are doing in Africa and globally to bring about peace.  Sammy was a featured speaker during last year’s PeaceFest.

Performing originals and covers on acoustic guitar. Obe uses a loop station to create loops consisting of drums, bass, guitar, percussion and vocals. It’s all live…nothing prerecorded. A show you can shake to, the music is best decribed as countryrockfunkadelic bluegrass.

Wrapping up the fest we have HH! An active real life musician who performs jazz, blues, funk, soul and electronica – often all at the same time. Come see for yourself at the Black Whole

DarkLobo Porta (Bogota, Colombia) will join in SL to tell us about his experience growing up and being a student in Colombia, a country torn by the drug trade.  This is connected with our work to raise funds for the Escuela Project, providing education and non-violent resistance for women in Colombia.
